Welcome to Cat Estate Plus! I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m Samantha. I’m the owner of two spoiled cats, Ash and Nimbus, and an equally spoiled dog, Cronus!

I started this company almost two years ago (it's hard to believe it's been that long) out of frustration of being excluded from the job market. I was born with cerebral palsy*, and despite my extensive education (master's degree in biology and leaving a PhD program in physiology due to incompatibility and open hostility to my challenges despite my academic achievements), the bioinformatics** job market was impossible to crack. (Don't even get me started on disability benefits!)

Cat Estate Plus is a creative way to generate income, of course, but mostly out of my love for cats (and dogs, an area I have since expanded into). Often when I’d shop for cat food, I’d add a few toys for Ash. Those toys would eventually disappear, so I’d throw a couple more in my cart the next time he needed food. You know how it goes!

**Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field of science that develops methods and software tools for understanding large and complex sets of biological data. Bioinformatics uses biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, computer programming, information engineering, mathematics and statistics to analyze and interpret biological data.
